Now, all age groups have to pre-register for shots

LUCKNOW : From Monday, all the age groups for which the government has allowed Covid vaccination will have to pre-register online to get their shots. They will get their vaccination scheduled on the CoWIN mobile app or web portal. The government has

announced that now on-thespot registration or walk-in will not be allowed even for people above 45 years.

Already, the vaccination for people between the age group of 18 plus is through pre-registration online. The vaccination for 18-44 age group will be done at fewer centres than those above the age of 44 years. When a prospective beneficiary registers on CoWin website or mobile app, the names of centres to choose from will pop up on CoWIN portal. There are two different tabs on the portal for the two age groups--one tab is ‘Age 18+’ and the other is ‘Age 45+’.
