Order your groceries over phone, get them delivered at your doorstep

LUCKNOW : The district administration re-introduced the home delivery of essential goods in the city and appointed nodal officers to ensure a regular supply, especially to Covid patients in home isolation, on Saturday. Also, the administration launched a massive sanitisation drive in rural pockets of the state capital.

Officials said the aim of the move is to facilitate people in getting essential goods at their doorstep and to motivate them to stay indoors.

Besides, the administration has also appointed additional district magistrate (ADM) East to ensure smooth functioning of the door-to-door home delivery system. “We have re-introduced the home delivery system in the entire city and have issued helpline numbers to assist people in times of need,” said Abhishek Prakash, district magistrate, while releasing the helpline numbers, on Saturday.

Under the move, the district administration issued a list for grocery shops, medical stores and vegetables\ dairy products, bearing the names and numbers of traders. “We are taking the help of corporators to reach out to the people. People can call on the given numbers, place their orders and the goods will be delivered to them,” an administrative official said.

The district administration has divided areas of the city falling under the municipal corporation limits into 25 sectors. Each of these sectors has grocery stores, shops selling dairy products and medical stores. The list of grocery stores runs into seven pages, while there are 154 medical stores named, and there is an entire page of stores selling dairy products.
