THE WOMAN’S FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE BEEN INFORMED THROUGH THE PROPER CHANNEL

LUCKNOW : The police and district administra­tion performed the last rites of a woman from Thailand who died during treatment at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences. She was Covid-19 positive.

“Piyathida Wichaporns­kul, who held the passport AA9361056, was admitted on April 28 and died on May 3, after which her family was contacted in Thailand via the embassy. As per their wishes, the last rites were performed on May 5 in front of her guide, Salman Khan, a resident of Rakabganj, in Lucknow,” ADM (administra­tion) Amar Pal Singh, said.

Inspector of Vibhuti Khand police station, Chandra Shekhar Singh said the woman was admitted to emergency ward of the institute. He said woman’s family members have been informed through the proper channel. He said the death certificat­e and last remains are kept for further process as per the wishes of the family.
