Train with 80 MT O2 to arrive in Kanpur today

PRAYAGRAJ: Much to the relief of the people of Kanpur and nearby areas, Eastern Railway has loaded an Oxygen Express for Kanpur.

The train containing four tankers of 80 MT of oxygen, loaded from Durgapur (West Bengal) departed from Durgapur on Saturday evening, said chief public relations officer, NCR, Shivam Sharma.

The train was expected to arrive at inland container depot in Kanpur on Sunday, he added.

Deputy chief traffic manager, Kanpur, Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said they were ready to receive the train with all decanting infrastruc­ture ready at the unloading site.

Once, decanted, it will be handed over to the district administra­tion to be used for Covid patients, he added.

This will be the first Oxygen Express to be unloaded in North Central Railway (NCR) region.
