‘Emotional-traumatic period for both kids and parents’

“My only daughter Arushi (19) is currently studying in the US and her vacations start on May 15, but we can’t be together. Last year she was here on Mother’s Day, but unfortunately, I had some throat infection, so I isolated myself and her celebration plans went for a toss! But, that’s how doctor-mother’s are,” said Dr Kavita Somani, founder and head of pathology, Apollomedics Superspeciality hospitals.

Last year when her daughter was at home, she met her hardly once or twice a month.

“My husband is also a doctor, so we tried meeting her very often to keep her away from the exposure, and she too kept herself locked in a room away from everyone. It’s an equally emotional-traumatic period for both kids and parents. But, as parents, it is all for the safety of the family.”
