POLICE BEGIN PROBE INTO THAI WOMAN’S DEATH
: Following a controversy over suspicious death of a woman from Thailand, the Lucknow police on Sunday formed a team to investigate the matter under the DCP west.
The Covid positive woman, who was admitted to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, on April 28, died on May 3, ADM (administration) Amar Pal Singh said on Saturday. Later, her family was contacted in Thailand via embassy. As per their wishes, her last rites were performed by the police and district administration on May 5, he had said.
In an official statement released by the Lucknow police, the team began its probe and spoke to people connected with the case.“Further investigation in the case will be done on the basis of facts collected by the team,” read the police statement.
A city builder and politician named in the controversy also wrote to local police requesting an investigation into the matter.
