VARANASI: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday instructed officials to start preparations for dealing with the third wave of Covid-19 that has been predicted by some experts.

He was chairing a meeting where he reviewed the Covid situation in Varanasi.

“Third wave (of Covid) will also come. Its target may be children. Start preparations for dealing with the third wave. Prepare four to 100 paediatric beds for children in hospitals in districts, especially in big districts. Additional manpower will be required in the hospitals. For this, the services of ex-servicemen, including retired army doctors and paramedical staff may be taken. By imparting training to fourth-year MBBS students, their services may also be taken,” the CM said and added that an honorarium had already been fixed for it.
