GOVTS HAVE FAILED TO PERFORM: RLD

-

: Launching a scathing attack on the Central and the state government, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) on Sunday said their inefficiency to deal with the Corona pandemic had forced the judiciary to step in.

“It seems as if the country were not being run by the elected governments but by the Supreme Court and the High Court. This is because the duties of the legislature and the executive are being discharged by the judiciary due to the inefficiency and failure of the legislature and the executive,” RLD national spokesman Anupam Mishra said in a statement.

He said the Supreme Court recently remarked that the allocation of oxygen should be done judiciously on the scientific basis and also appointed a National Task Force to carry out the same task. “This was the central government’s job which it failed to perform miserably,” he said.

Mishra said it was shameful that oxygen containers from the Netherlands arrived in India in 24 hours but authorities took 48 hours to move them to their destination within India. He said both the Centre and the state governments had full one year to make preparations to deal with the second wave and save people from dying due to lack of oxygen and beds in hospitals.
