CONGRESS SLAMS BJP OVER PRICE RISE
LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh (UP) Congress has attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state over the rise in prices of essential and daily use commodities. The Congress leaders claimed that the rise in prices hit the common man even more as it came amid the pandemic.
UP Congress Committee (UPCC) spokesman Ashok Singh said: “Black-marketers and adulterators are emboldened and busy over time as prices of pulses, oilseeds, vegetables, fruits, eggs, bread, flour have increased. This is causing additional trouble to people already troubled because of the pandemic. People are being looted.” Singh said that earlier blackmarketing was going on of oxygen, essential medicines, but now prices of essential commodities had increased and claimed the government has not done anything to check all this.
“Not taking any action against the black-marketers, adulterators, and those who are selling essential items at a premium has further encouraged such people. The government must take immediate steps to check all this and control prices,” he said.
