Internatio­nal guests pray for world peace

LUCKNOW: City Montessori School, Kanpur Road Campus, organised an online roza-iftar on Monday.

Eminent personalit­ies from Kuwait, Canada, USA, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Albania, Bangladesh, Palestine and India gathered on the Zoom platform and prayed for peace in the world. Salem Salman Humoud Al Sabah, ATC manager, Corporate Planning Group, Kuwait, joined the event as the chief guest while Imam Tariq Rasheed, director and Imam, Islamic Centre of Orlando, Canada, presided over the congregati­on.

Salem Salman Humoud Al Sabah said, “Ramzan is the month when we must necessaril­y worship, give charity, help others, be kind to others and abstain from every unlawful and disliked act.” Imam Tariq Rasheed said that this Roza-Iftar of CMS showcases the spirit of unity, friendship and social harmony. CMS founder and educationi­st, Jagdish Gandhi, said, “We should not only work to fulfil our own wishes but we must bow before the wishes of the Almighty.”

Others who graced the event were Prof Syed Ali from John Hopkins University, USA; Prof Hayal Koksal, Turkey; Musaid Nair and Muaadh Nair from Sri Lanka; Mohd Raqeeb Khan and Hameed Ali from Saudi Arabia; Abdullah Khan from Dubai; Shamsuddin Ahmed Talukder, Celina Khatun, Nasir Uddin and Sheikh Abu Taleb from Bangladesh; Munther Mohammed Zyuod from Palestine; Suraiya Farhat and Afzal Ahmad from Abu Dhabi and Hesham Abdo from Riyadh.
