LUCKNOW: The district administration on Thursday issued advisory, defining dos and don’ts, for Eid-ul-Fitr to be celebrated on Friday.

Asking people to stay indoors, the district administration also imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), which prohibit the assembly of four or more people in an area.

“We have imposed section 144. It should be ensured that Covid 19 protocols are strictly followed. People are requested to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr while staying indoors,” said Abhishek Prakash, district magistrate while addressing a review meeting on law and order on Thursday.

“In the wake of Covid-19 situation, there is a need to take effective measures to keep a check on the virus outbreak. As per the decision taken in the meeting, no gathering of four or more than four persons would be allowed. Neither any procession would be allowed on the day,” said the DM.

Also, the use of loudspeakers would be prohibited.

Officials with the district administration said the restriction would be in addition to the existing partial curfew which Uttar Pradesh government has imposed in wake of the Covid infection.
