Nodal officers to ensure beds for Covid patients in Lucknow
LUCKNOW : The district administration has appointed 24 nodal officers in the state capital to ensure availability of beds to Covid patients. Besides, the administration has also directed the officials at Integrated Covid Control and Command Centre (ICCCC) to make sure that no calls made by people in distress amid the pandemic remain unanswered.
The move comes after chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s order a couple of days back directing all district magistrates to ensure availability of beds and also see to it that all such calls are attended round the clock.
“We have divided the entire district into 24 parts and have appointed some 24 nodal officers who will personally ensure availability of beds to the Covid patients in their respective areas,” said Lucknow district magistrate Abhishek Prakash.
He further said the nodal officers with coordinate with the concerned staff of hospitals in their areas and would make sure that beds were made available to the Covid patients. Other than the nodal officers, the administration has also appointed sector officers, sector medical officer and sector police officer to ensure better coordination.
The DM said the appointed officers would be available 24x7 and would also keep a check on the availability of oxygen. Besides, the officers would also keep tabs on overpricing of medicines etc.
