UPEIDA CEO reviews Purvanchal E’way
LUCKNOW: Chief executive officer of UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) Awanish Awasthi on Sunday carried out inspection of under construction river over bridges (ROB) at Purvanchal Expressway.
Engineers of construction company Rites Limited were also present. The 340-km expressway will start from the state capital and will end in Ghazipur, eastern Uttar Pradesh. Several ROBs are also coming up along this expressway. During inspection, Awasthi sought details about progress of work from engineers of the construction company. Reviewing the work, the CEO instructed engineers to complete the work within the deadline of October this year.
He also sought details of progress of construction work made in the last fortnight.
The expressway would traverse through nine districts of the state, including Lucknow, Barabanki, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur.
Apart from this, the expressway would also connect important cities like Varanasi, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur and Allahabad through link roads.
The expressway will also have a three-km long runway at Kudebhar in Sultanpur district. This runway has been proposed for landing and take-off of fighter jets of Indian Air Force during an emergency situation.
Counted among most prestigious projects of the state government, the project cost of Purvanchal Expressway is around Rs 22,494.66 crore, including cost of land.
The project has been divided into eight packages to ensure its timely completion. At present five expressways are being constructed in the state.
Apart from Purvanchal Expressway, construction work has started on Bundelkhand Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway.
