UP govt caps wedding guests limit to 25

LUCKNOW : In wake of the pandemic, the UP government on Tuesday restricted the number of guests at marriage functions to 25. It also made it mandatory for marriage lawns/halls to ensure that Covid protocols were strictly followed.

In its previous order on April 2021, the state government had capped the wedding guests limit to 50 in closed halls and 100 in open spaces like open lawns. However, now the number has been restricted to 25 in both open and closed spaces.

‘In both closed and open spaces, not more than 25 people at a time would be allowed. It would also be mandatory for all to wear mask, maintain social distancing and follow Covid protocols,’ reads the order of Awanish Kumar Awasthi, ACS (home).

The order also stated that the seating arrangements at marriage halls and lawns should be enough to maintain social distancing.
