WOMAN SHOT DEAD IN KANPUR

KANPUR: A woman traveling back to her house on a scooter was accosted and shot multiple times in Kisan Nagar, Bidhnoo in Kanpur Outer late Tuesday evening.

She was identified as Arti Sharma, 30, a local resident, through her cellphone found on the site. According to SP Kanpur Outer Astha Bhuja Singh initial information was of death in an accident. During spot examination the police discovered that she was shot four times. Her father Ram Narayan Sharma, who was in Gwalior, has been informed. “Body has been sent for postmortem, a case will be registered after her father reaches,” Singh said.
