CM hits ground zero, reviews Covid situation in 47 dists
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath is visiting villages of various districts and taking stock of the Covid situation in the state with top officers and medical experts to intensify the fight against the second wave of the pandemic
A state government spokesperson said the chief minister was on ground zero monitoring the health facilities, vaccination drive and collecting feedback from the people, officers, people’s representatives when the second wave hit the state. He came back to action mode again after testing negative for Covid on April 30.
He has reviewed Covid situation in 47 districts located in 11 divisions by either visiting the district or via virtual medium. He was also the first CM to visit Aligarh Muslim University in the last 37 years. He ordered stern action against those found guilty of any kind of laxity, negligence or inappropriate behaviour in Covid management, the spokesperson said.
The CM visited Meerut and Saharanpur divisions in west UP to review Covid situation during two-day whirlwind tour. He visited the villages, collected feedback from the people’s representatives at ground zero.
Yogi also met infected families at Integrated Covid Control and Command Centre (ICCC) and containment zones to ascertain whether they were getting medical kits or not.
When the first wave of Covid hit the state last year, Yogi chalked out a strategy and reviewed the situation with officers in Team 11. During the second wave, he formed Team 9. He also fixed accountabilities at the governance level. In the video conferencing with concerned officials, the CM ordered implementation of guidelines in the districts. He also monitored the implementation of the guidelines on the ground, he said. Yogi tested positive for Covid-19 on April 14. During the home isolation, he not only held regular review meetings with officers via virtual medium but also held virtual dialogues with people from different sections of the society.
