As of now 60 children who lost both of their parents have been identified. A task force has been set up in 70 out of the state’s 75 districts and about 669 other children needing help have also been identified. Covid virtual support groups are also being set up in districts.
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said an action plan should be formulated to help children whose parents died battling Covid-19 in Uttar Pradesh.
As of now 60 children who lost both of their parents have been identified. A task force has been set up in 70 out of the state’s 75 districts and about 669 other children needing help have also been identified. Covid virtual support groups are also being set up in districts.
It has been felt that criminals are active and looking to take advantage of the situation for the illegal adoption of such children, according to the authorities.
The chief minister said the state’s women and child development department should work out the action plan that should have provisions for the maintenance of such children and other destitute children.
Reviewing the Covid-19 situation at a virtual meeting, he said the partial corona curfew should be strictly implemented. All senior officers should attend their offices regularly and carry out their day-to-day work from there, he said.
No deduction should be made from salary of teachers if any education institution had charged fee from students, he added.
He said the state government’s trace, test and treat policy was proving useful. Yogi said out of the 2,99,327 Covid-19 tests conducted in the state in past 24 hours, 2,19,000 tests were done in the rural areas.
Post-Covid wards should be prepared in all dedicated Covid hospitals in the state, he said, adding that appropriate availability of black fungus medicines should be ensured in all the hospitals.
There had been an increase of 2,400 human resources (personnel) in the medical education department and the process of recruitment had been expedited in the health department, he said.
He also said encephalitis treatment centres in Gorakhpur and other districts should also remain functional as cases of encephalitis were reported there in July.
Guidelines from national medical commission should be obtained to deploy final-year students studying in medical institutions in other countries, he said to the officials. The services of retired doctors of armed forces and other services should be used for tele-consultation, he added. A two-day backup was available in the medical colleges and on demand oxygen was also available for home isolation patients, he said.
Centralized tender process should be started for oxygen plants being set up through the SDRF in the state, he said.
Distribution of tablets Yogi Adityanath said an action plan should be formulated for distribution of tablets to the youths in the state in the current financial year.
