LUCKNOW : The district administration on Friday launched the ‘labs on wheels’ service aimed at facilitating Covid testing at people’s doorstep. As of now, 22 vans have been pressed into service, but more may be rolled out in future, said officials.

People can call on 05224523000 to get themselves registered for the Covid test.

“The service would be convenient for people as they won’t have to rush to the testing centres,” said Abhishek Prakash, district magistrate, who flagged off the service.

Of the 22 vans, seven are powered by private test labs and 15 by government testing centres. The service is aimed at ramping up testing in the district, said the DM. He directed lab officials to ensure that the details of patients are uploaded on the portal that could further help in tracing Covid patients.
