‘PROVIDE HOME POSTING, INSURANCE COVER TO CONTRACTUA­L WOMEN HEALTH WORKERS’

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Ajay Kumar Lallu has urged chief minister Yogi Adityanath to consider seven-point demands, including home posting and insurance cover, of 16,000 contractua­l women health workers.

Lallu has written a letter to the chief minister in this regard. He said the contractua­l women health workers have played a crucial role in fight against Covid-19, Japanese Encephalit­is and vaccinatio­n, and helping in routine medical work.

He said that their problems should be resolved immediatel­y and their posting in home districts must be ensured. Lallu said a minimum salary of Rs 25,000 should be given to contractua­l women health workers till they were absorbed on regular posts.

He also said that an insurance cover and minimum compensati­on of Rs 50 lakh should be given to women health workers who died in fight against Covid-19.
