The Opposition must get its act together

This is with reference to Chanakya’s For India’s Opposition, the one big question (May 16). I agree that to take on Narendra Modi in the next general election, the Opposition must get its act together, now. That will give it ample time to plan its campaign, work on its messaging, and choose the right candidates. Ray Gupta, via email

The pandemic is an unfortunate episode, but it has given the Opposition an opportunity to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). If it cannot utilise this chance and unite, then it has no business staying on in politics.
