NADDA ASKS CMS TO HELP CHILDREN ORPHANED DUE TO COVID TO MARK 7 YRS OF BJP GOVT
NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda has written to chief ministers of all BJP-ruled states to draft and implement a welfare programme for children left orphaned by the Covid-19 pandemic by May 30, the completion of seven years of the Narendra Modi government. Nadda has also maintained that no public functions will be held to mark the anniversary as the country battles a raging second wave of the pandemic.
“…Unfortunately, the problem (pandemic) is so big that some children have lost both their parents in the pandemic. We are aware of their sorrow. It is now our responsibility to plan and take steps for their future. It is our social responsibility to stand with such children and take care of them,” said Nadda in the letter.
The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance was elected to power at the Centre for the second term on May 30, 2019, with an unprecedented majority of 303 MPs.
The states have been asked to take quick steps to create a road map for the welfare programme, keeping in view the requirements, circumstances and traditions of their respective states.
In the letter, Nadda also urged the cadre in the state units of the BJP to undertake relief work and show gratitude to the people for giving BJP the chance to serve.
Stepping up its relief efforts, the BJP has relaunched its Seva Hi Sangathan (organisation is service) campaign to aid the government’s efforts of encouraging Covid appropriate behaviour.
