Girl from bihar alleges rape, trafficking

-

A girl from Bihar was allegedly trafficked to Delhi, sold to a woman in Gurugram and raped by many men for nearly three months, said the Delhi Police on Saturday. The girl alleged that she fled to south Delhi and met a security guard, who also exploited her sexually on the pretext of marriage, said police.

“While the security guard, who is in his thirties, has been arrested, efforts are on to identify and nab the Gurugram woman, who allegedly pushed the girl into prostitution, and another woman from Bihar’s Patna, who trafficked her to Delhi on the promise of getting her a job,” said additional deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Amit Goel.

The girl is currently in the custody of an NGO, said police.

A senior police officer, who did not want to be named, said that there has been confusion over the exact age of the survivor. While the girl says that she is 16 years old, her family members in their statement have stated that she is an adult.
