Decision on UP Board exams after consulting Yogi: Dy CM

-

LUCKNOW : The decision whether to conduct only the UP board intermediate (class 12) examination or the high school (class 10) too will be taken in consultation with chief minister Yogi Adityanath in the coming days, said deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma on Sunday.

Speaking at a video conference with union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and defence minister Rajnath Singh, Sharma said unlike CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) or the ICSE board, the UP Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad had not taken any final decision whether to conduct only class 12 board exams and not the class 10 exams.

“UP Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad is fully prepared to conduct the examination on the basis of the timeframe set by the central government,” said Sharma in a press statement. The UP board will declare results within a month of the exams being held, said Sharma who is also the minister for secondary education.

“When the UP board exams begin will be decided in a meeting with chief minister Yogi Adityanath. It will also be decided whether to hold only intermediate examinations or both class 10 and 12 exams. There will be no problem in conducting UP board exams.” Sharma assured Pokhriyal that the Uttar Pradesh government was fully prepared to conduct the CBSE class 12 examinations in the manner in which the board desired.

“Since only a few thousands appear in CBSE examination from Uttar Pradesh, there will be no problem in conducting the examination in the manner which the CBSE board wants,” said Sharma.
