Lalji Tandon Foundation organises webinar on Covid, black fungus
LUCKNOW: The Lalji Tandon Foundation organized a medical webinar on ‘Post Covid Management and Black Fungus’ on Sunday. Urban development minister Ashutosh Tandon, Dr M L Bhatt (former vice chancellor of KGMU) and Dr D Himanshu ( specialist, communicable diseases , medical superintendent, KGMU) discussed important points regarding prevention and precautions, President of the Foundation Ashutosh Tandon said ,
“Due to the emergence of black fungus there is a lot of confusion among patients who have recovered from Covid-19 . Some of them are worried even after the recovery.” He also mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government was able to successfully control the second wave of Covid. He thanked the doctors and frontline Covid warriors and assured that the foundation would continue welfare work efficiently.
DR MLB Bhatt advised against taking very hot vapours. He advised the patients to switch off the steam connection before taking vapours and to change the water in the steamer regularly.”
Dr D Himanshu advised that if one was using a cloth mask then it should be washed every day. People should use a double mask or N-95 mask.
To increase immunity, doctors advised exercise and yoga. They also mentioned that many people were taking too many medicines and steroids which also led to black fungus infection.
