POWER ENGINEERS TO BOYCOTT UPPCL CHIEF OVER HARASSMENT ALLEGATION
LUCKNOW: The state’s power engineers will start a ‘non-cooperation movement’ against the UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) chairman from Tuesday, in response to a call given by the UP Rajya Vidyut Abhiyanta Sangh to protest against the alleged harassment of their many colleagues.
“Engineers will stop cooperating with the chairman from May 25 to oppose harassment of their colleagues during the Covid times. However, we will ensure availability of power supply to hospitals, oxygen plants and common people,” said VP Singh, Abhiyanta Sangh president, in a written statement here on Monday.
He said engineers would not obey the chairman and those connected with him through WhatsApp groups, and they would also exit these groups. “They will neither take his calls nor attend any meeting/videoconference to be called by the chairman,” Singh said.
