LUCKNOW: Deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma announced on Monday that an oxygen plant would be functional in couple of days in Rae Bareli.

This oxygen plant would be set up at the rail coach factory, where a makeshift Covid hospital is now functional.

“Once this happens, it would benefit patients immensely,” Sharma said during his visit to Rae Bareli.

Sharma, the state’s education minister is also the in-charge minister of Rae Bareli, the Lok Sabha constituency of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

Sharma said apart from an oxygen plant at the rail coach factory, another oxygen plant was being set up at the district hospital.

Oxygen from this plant would also be supplied to the women hospital, the deputy CM said.

“There has been a sharp dip in positive cases in Rae Bareli and the rate of decrease of cases leads me to believe that the entire district could soon be free of Covid,” the deputy chief minister said.

Sharma said the government had regularly been helping all the districts in the fight against Covid-19 and added that from availability of oxygen beds to other requirements needed to fight Covid-19, the government had been doing everything to fight the infectious viral disease.
