Ready plan to ensure O2 plants being set up in hospitals remain operational: CS to officials

-

: Chief secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari on Tuesday directed officials to make long-term planning to ensure that a large number of medical equipment and oxygen plants being set up in medical colleges and hospitals, to fight Covid-19, remained operational in future too.

Presiding over a project monitoring group’s meeting here on Tuesday he also suggested the appointment of a nodal officer for each oxygen plant for its regular maintenance. He said the manufacturers who were supplying medical equipment and oxygen plants should be asked to arrange training of hospital staff to rectify small faults when needed.

Tiwari said senior administration officials who were sent to different districts last week had submitted some very important suggestions. He asked concerning officials to ensure those suggestions were acted upon for better results. He told health department officials to arrange required manpower in advance for the pediatric wards being set up in medical colleges and hospitals.
