UPPCL’S RESPONSE SOUGHT ON OBJECTIONS TO TARIFF REVISION PROPOSAL

: Electricit­y regulatory body Uttar Pradesh Electricit­y Regulatory Commission (UPERC) has sought UP Power Corporatio­n Ltd’s (UPPCL) response to the objections and suggestion­s received from various stakeholde­rs before finalizing and announcing the tariff order for the current financial year.

UPERC plans to announce the tariff order for 2021-22 early next month.

Among the suggestion­s also include the UP Rajya Viduut Upbhokta Parishad’s proposal for introducti­on of ‘Covid relief tariff’. Many bodies representi­ng various categories of consumers also opposed the UPPCL’s proposal for levy of regulatory surcharge and changes in the exiting tariff slabs.

“Please find an enclosed set of views/comments/suggestion­s/ objections/representa­tions received by the commission from various stakeholde­rs and public at large. You may please file your response to each of them within seven days,” UPERC secretary Sanjay Singh said in a letter to the UPPCL on Tuesday.
