Shiva Thapa enters semi-finals in Dubai

DUBAI: Shiva Thapa (64kg) beat Nader Odah of Kuwait 5-0 in the quarter-finals to ensure his fifth Asian Championships medal. He will face top seed Bakhodur Usmonov of Tajikistan in the semifinal. CWG bronzewinner Mohd Hussamuddin (56kg) lost to Uzbekistan’s reigning world champion Miraziz-bek Mirzahalilov in the quarterfinals of the Asian Boxing Championship. The Indian boxer lost 1-4.
