Yogi: SGPGI experts to monitor treatment of black fungus patients
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has said specialists from the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science (SGPGIMS) would keep a direct watch on the condition of black fungus patients in the state with effect from Wednesday.
Reviewing the Covid-19 situation through video conferencing from Gorakhpur, Yogi said SGPGI experts would supervise the line of treatment wherever black fungus patients were being treated, including Lucknow, Meerut, Gorakhpur and Varanasi. He added that there was no shortage of useful medicines anywhere in the state.
The CM said a new record of Covid-19 testing was being created and 3,58,273 tests had been done in the past 24 hours. These included 1.48 lakh samples sent from districts for RTPCR test. He said Uttar Pradesh was the only state to conduct such a large number of tests and the test positivity rate was 1 per cent.
Work on CHCs/PHCs under construction should be completed on time and a nodal officer should be appointed to ensure this, he said. A database of all PHCs, CHCs, health centres and district hospital facilities should be prepared.
He said a mobile application should be developed with information about the number of available doctors, paramedical staff, medicines, condition of buildings and status of equipment there.
Patients in home isolation should be given tele-consultation, he said, adding there was a need to increase the number of doctors and phone lines for the purpose.
