LUCKNOW LOGS 129 FRESH CASES, SLIPS TO 7TH SPOT ON UP LIST

LUCKNOW: With 129 Covid cases surfacing on Wednesday, Lucknow slipped to seventh position in UP in terms of fresh cases. Ghaziabad reported 228 fresh cases, Meerut 212, Gorakhpur 162, Varanasi 151, Gautam Buddh Nagar 150 and Saharanpur 149, according to the state health department.

“Lucknow has reported 23,70,121 Covid cases so far, of which 2,30,341 have recovered, taking the recovery rate to 97.18%,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general, Association of International Doctors.

Doctors said the fall in cases and rise in recovery rate needed to be sustained. “We need to sustain the recovery rate while active cases under treatment have to be brought down to near zero,” said Prof Kauser Usman, HoD, geriatric medicine at the King George’s Medical University.
