PARENTS ARE ALSO FACING STRUGGLES

-

It’s not easy to tell kids to not step out of the house for months at stretch, and therefore, it has been equally challenging for parents to handle the situation while trying to explain their young ones the reason behind it.

Actor Adil Hussain tells us, “It has been very difficult stopping my son (Kabir, 10) from going outside. It’s almost like suppressing his natural impulses. He wants to move and go out to play, run around screaming with his peers, learning the dynamics of interrelationships. All that has been completely cut down. One has to find ways to let him let out those energies indoors, which is difficult in an apartment. It’s not at all a normal childhood for children.”

Actor Arjun Bijlani is making sure to keep his son, Ayaan (6), engaged and not let him feel isolated. “I play with him and do fun activities. I try and talk to him and make him understand what the world is going through,” says the actor, adding, “This pandemic has been hard on kids on so many levels. A child learns so much more when he can go out in the physical world and explore — from sharing to playing sports to extracurricular activities to making new friends. I feel sad Ayaan is missing out on making these beautiful memories.”
