CONG SETS UP PANEL TO PROBE MISMANAGEM­ENT OF COVID, RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN UP

Uttar Pradesh Congress has set up a high-level fact-finding panel led by former Union minister Salman Khursheed to probe alleged cases of human rights violations during the pandemic, fake-fudged data related to corona and Covid mismanagem­ent in the state, said the party in a statement on Thursday.

In the statement, the UP Congress Committee (UPCC) president Ajay Kumar Lallu said the panel was set up following directions of party national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and includes eminent social sector leaders and party leaders.

He said apart from Khursheed social activist Sandeep Pandey, former MP PL Punia, UP Congress legislativ­e party (CLP) leader Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’, former union minister Pradeep Jain Aditya, Manavadhik­ar Jan Jagran Samiti coordinato­r Lenin Raghuvansh­i and Jal Jodo, Jan Jodo campaign’s national coordinato­r Sanjay Singh were in the panel.

He added that the members would work in different parts of the state and submit their report to the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee soon.
