KIN OF JOURNOS WHO DIED DUE TO COVID TO GET ₹5L

The central governemnt has approved a proposal to provide “financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to families of journalists who lost their lives due to Covid-19” under the journalist welfare scheme, said a statement release by the ministry of information and broadcasting on Thursday. “In a suo motu move, Ministry of I&B and PIB... had compiled and collated the details of journalists who lost their lives due to the pandemic in the years 2020 & 2021...,” the ministry said in a statement. “The Central Government approved a proposal of Journalist Welfare Scheme Committee headed by Sh. Amit Khare, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, to provide financial relief of ₹5 lakh to each of the families of 26 journalists who died due to Covid-19...,” the statement added.
