WOMAN KILLS WIFE-BASHER HUSBAND

Unhappy with even her fourth marriage, a 36-yearold woman poisoned her husband and later placed his body outside the house, in the city outskirts, in a Nagram village, as if someone had beaten him to death.

The Lucknow police arrested Gyanwati, on Friday, when the truth was revealed during investigations.

Lucknow additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) Poornendu Singh said Awadesh Rawat’s body was found outside his house on Tuesday morning. It bore multiple injuries on the face and other parts of the body, His wife, Gyanwati, said that the victim had gone to attend a marriage party and did not return home. Later, he was found lying outside the house.

He said that the woman reiterated that the victim had been killed by an outsider, but the post-mortem revealed that all the injuries on the body had been inflicted after death.

“The woman confessed to the crime during rigorous interrogation that she had poisoned her husband’s meal on Monday night when he returned in a drunken state and beat her up badly. Later, she strangled him to death when he became unconscious. Still later, she inflicted the injuries on his body to mislead police,” the ADCP said..
