LUCKNOW MAN CLAIMS NO ANTIBODIES AFTER COVISHIELD DOSE; FILES COMPLAINT

LUCKNOW : A Lucknow man has filed a police complaint against Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) director-general Dr Balram Bhargava and others, alleging that he did not develop antibodies against Covid-19 despite taking a single dose of the Covishield vaccine. Police are yet to file an FIR on the basis of his complaint. The complaint has been filed at Aashiana police station in Lucknow by one Pratap Chandra, resident of Ruchi Khand area in the state capital.

A Lucknow man has filed a police complaint against Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) director-general Dr Balram Bhargava and others, alleging that he did not develop antibodies against Covid-19 despite taking a single dose of the Covishield vaccine. Police are yet to file an FIR on the basis of his complaint. The complaint has been filed at Aashiana police station in Lucknow by one Pratap Chandra, resident of Ruchi Khand area in the state capital.

In his complaint, Chandra said that he took the first dose of the Covishied vaccine on April 8. He recently got tested for Covid-19 antibiodie­s. The test result revealed that he did not develop any antibodies against Covid-19, instead his platelet count dropped to 1.5 lakh from 3 lakh, claimed Chandra in his complaint. Chandra also named the

As per the recent government guidelines, we need to wait for a minimum of 12 weeks to take the second dose. Out of curiosity, I wanted to know whether I developed antibodies in my body or not. I got myself tested at a nearby lab on May 25 and found out that I did not develop antibodies,” he stated. “The test result revealed that I did not develop any antibodies against Covid-19, instead, my platelets were reduced to 1.5 lakh from 3 lakh,” he said. ACP Beenu Singh said, “The matter is sensitive, and it is being looked into. Further action over the complaint will be taken as per directions of senior officials in the matter.” Meanwhile, Chandra has threatened to move court if an FIR is not registered against people mentioned in his complaint.
