Lucknow fresh cases go below 100 after 72 days

LUCKNOW : The count of daily fresh Covid-19 cases in Lucknow came below 100 after a gap of 72 days, with 84 fresh cases and 5 deaths being reported on Monday.

On March 19, there were 90 fresh cases and on March 20 there were 115 fresh cases after which the rise continued till the middle of May. The state capital has reported 2,37,541 Covid-19 cases and 2,437 deaths till now. “Recovery rate in city is 98.01%,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general, Associatio­n of Internatio­nal Surgeons.

There are 2,280 active cases under treatment in Lucknow and a majority are in home isolation. “The receding number of fresh daily cases is a sign that efforts such as restrictio­ns upon movement and other market
