LUCKNOW: The state government on Monday shunted Excise Commissioner, P Guruprasad after death of several people in Aligarh hooch tragedy, Rigzian Samphel who was on the wait list has been made Excise Commissioner

Meanwhile, the state’s police and excise wings stepped up raids on liquor mafia, arresting 453 persons and registering 927 cases over the last two days since the 15-day enforcement drive launched on the orders of CM Yogi Adityanath.

“Over the last 2 days 927 cases have been registered, 71054 litres of illicit liquor seized and 1,66,751 kilograms of material used in manufacture of illicit liquor has been destroyed on the spot. Total 453 arrests have been made and 12 vehicles too have been seized,” additional chief secretary, excise, Sanjay Bhoosreddy said.
