GOVT FIXES JUN 15 DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR EX GRATIA

LUCKNOW : The family members of the government staff who died of Covid infection or due to postCovid complications within 30 days of their duty in the recently held panchayat polls can apply for Rs 30 lakh ex gratia payment by June 15.

Additional chief secretary, panchayati raj, Manoj Kumar Singh on Tuesday issued a government order (GO) in this regard after the UP cabinet on Monday relaxed the norms with regard to the duty period to cover more families under the scheme. As per the GO, claimants can apply online by June 15 with district magistrates to get documents and claims verified and upload their recommendations on the portal by June 22.

“Applicants need to upload copy of election duty order issued by state election commission, proof of Covid infection, death certificate along with one photo of the deceased,” it says.

UP CABINET ON MONDAY HAD RELAXED THE NORMS WITH REGARD TO THE DUTY PERIOD TO COVER MORE FAMILIES UNDER THE SCHEME
