Fresh case count below 100 in all 75 dists of UP

Number of active cases under treatment in Lucknow is 1,675

LUCKNOW : All the 75 districts of UP reported below 100 fresh Covid cases with Meerut accounting for the maximum – 96 cases – on Wednesday.

“Relaxations in corona curfew have been given in districts where active cases are less than 600, but people need to remain cautious and follow Covid protocol as increase in active cases can lead to imposition of restrictions again,” said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, medical health, in a press conference.

As many as 64 districts have reported less than 600 active cases under treatment, hence Covid restrictions have been relaxed there.

Gautam Buddh Nagar and Lucknow reported 79 and 54 fresh cases, respectively. The number of active cases under treatment is 1,675 in Lucknow and 843 in Gautam Buddh Nagar, according to the state health department data. “The recovery rate in Lucknow is 98.25%,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general, Association of International doctors.

“The recovery rate in the state is now 97.1% while the overall positivity rate is 3.4%. The 24-hour positivity rate is 0.5%,” said Prasad. He said people should go for vaccination and should not be influenced by any misinformation.
