BCI SETS UP PANEL TO DECIDE METHOD OF EXAM FOR LAW STUDENTS
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has constituted a “high-level expert committee” to decide the “method of evaluation and examination for LL.B students” in view of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The council has resolved to constitute a 12- member expert committee to be chaired by Justice Govind Mathur, former chief justice of the Allahabad high court. The committee was formed after students of several centres of legal education from across the country, including 273 from the Faculty of Law, Delhi University (DU), sent emails with the request that the LLB intermediate semester examination/ evaluation and promotion should be held as per University Grants Commission (UGC) guideline through a composite scheme i.e. 50% marks from the internal assessment and 50% marks for previous performance.
