LUCKNOW: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Wednesday said the corona lockdown combined with the fatal pandemic not only disrupted the normal life of the people but also cast an adverse impact on the economy of the country, increasing poverty, unemployment and inflation rate. Still, the government was not serious toward these issues.

In a series of tweets Mayawati said the economy of the country was virtually gasping for oxygen, but instead of addressing the issues the government and political parties were busy serving vested political interests. In view of the persisting scenario it seemed that people would not get relief from the tough situation soon, she said. Meanwhile, the BSP appointed sector in-charge Intezar Abdi as chief sector in-charge of Lucknow. The BSP has also decided to change the district presidents of six districts. The names would be announced soon, said a BSP leader.
