Class 12 Boards scrapped: Ashnoor, Kartikey heave sigh of relief

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the cancellati­on of Class 12 Board Examinatio­ns, after much deliberati­on. And, actors Ashnoor Kaur and Kartikey Malviya are elated, to say the least.

“We were preparing for the exams, but like thousands of students awaiting a decision, we were on the edge, anxious about going to a centre to give the exam. It is unsafe to step out, especially now, during the second wave,” says Kaur of Patiala Babes fame.

She continues, “There are kids who’ve lost their loved ones, imagine how difficult it would’ve been for them to step out. I wanted exams to be cancelled, and I’m glad the government kept our safety in mind. My friends and I slept well after the decision came out (laughs). Now, we have clarity and peace of mind. The uncertaint­y was killing us.”

applying to universiti­es in Mumbai and the US. “The marks might be an average of a few exams we gave in the past. I’ve heard they might consider Class 11 results, and include Class 12 term exams, practicals and two pre-boards we gave this year,” he adds.
