‘Gambhir Foundation hoarded Covid meds’

The Delhi drug controller on Thursday told the Delhi high court that a foundation run by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) East Delhi MP Gautam Gambhir was involved in the “unauthorised purchase/procurement, stocking and distribution” of medicine and medical oxygen, days after the body gave the former cricketer a clean chit in the same matter. The turnaround prompted the court to accuse the controller of trying “to protect these people.” The bench of justices Vipin Sanghi and Jasmeet Singh, noting the findings, asked the drug controller to act against Gambhir just like other people, remarking that this would curb such practices and set an example.The drug controller told the court that AAP MLA Praveen Kumar was also involved in hoarding medical oxygen.
