Over 24K complaints of corona curfew violations reported in past month

Over 24,400 incidents of corona curfew violation were reported to the state police integrated emergency response centre, UP-112, between April 30 and May 31, senior police officials said.

They said people from different parts of the state reported different types of violations including crowd gathering, violating social distancing protocols, functionin­g of schools, colleges and coaching institutes as well as complaints of black marketing of necessary products.

In a press statement issued by UP-112, police officials said as many as 24,336 complaints were reported by people through phone calls as well as different social media platforms during the corona curfew. They said complaints relating to crowd gathering and violation of socialdist­ancing norms too came in but mainly from smaller cities, town areas and city outskirts.

The officials said many people complained about the functionin­g of schools, colleges and coaching institutes despite a complete ban. They said as many as 16,202 such complaints were attended by UP-112 police patrol vehicles across 75 districts of the state. They said such complaints were mainly from larger cities and urban areas.

Similarly, callers reported as many as 641 complaints regarding black marketing of different products including lifesaving injections and other medical equipment.
