GOVT URGED TO ALLOW OPENING OF SHOPS IN LKO
: Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Mandal has requested the state government to allow opening of shops in major markets of the state capital in a phased manner.
A delegation of the traders’ association met mayor Sanyukta Bhatia at her residence on Thursday in this regard. Its regional media incharge Yogendra Singh said , “Traders would be happy even if they are allowed to open shops for four hours a day. The traders of the city had shut down their shops even when the lockdown was not enforced. They have already suffered due to the pandemic in the last one-and-a-half years. So, we request the district administration to consider our appeal with sympathy.”
Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia assured the traders to communicate their message to the district administration and the chief minister. She said the traders were the backbone of the economy so their request would be forwarded to the authorities.
However, traders’ leader and president, Akhil Bhartiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal, Sandeep Bansal said, “The decision of not permitting the shops to open for cities with more than 600 Covid positive cases is not fair for the traders of Lucknow. The administration should have thought about the problems of traders too.”
