On a poetic high
At the Department of English and Modern European Languages, Lucknow University, Rhetorica Literary Society launched the fourth issue of its literary magazine Rhetorica Quarterly, online, recently.
Prof Ranu Uniyal, the head of department, welcomed the guest of honour Dr Noor Khan, an alumna of the department and retired principal, Karamat Husain Girls’ PG College, Lucknow. The launch included a special poetry reading session by the guest contributors of the magazine, namely Dr Sanjukta Dasgupta, Anamika, Vinita Sinha, and Jaydeep Sarangi.
The session was moderated by the poetry editor Amrita Sharma, and included a section where other editors like Ansh Sharma, Roopam Mishra, Ekta Gupta and Ashutosh Agarwal shared their journeys as editors so far. Several contributors to the present issue of the journal were also invited to read or talk about their works. The designer for this issue, Aviral Saxena also shared his experience with the audience. The magazine is themed on ‘Womanhood’ and has now been made public for the readers.
