Yogi hails PM’s announcements

LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday hailed the two announcements by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding free Covid vaccination and free rations to the poor till Diwali.

In a statement, the chief minister said the union government had given the freedom to states to vaccinate 18+ age group but several states were facing problems in bearing the cost of the vaccine for this.

“I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for solving this problem of the state governments by providing free vaccination to all above the age of 18 from June 21. At the same time, at present 80 crore Indians are getting free rations for May and June under the Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojna (PMGKAY) and the PM, with sensitivity towards the poor, has announced the extension of the scheme till Diwali so that no one would sleep without food.”

Yogi said the PMGKAY would benefit 15 crore needy in Uttar Pradesh.
