Yogi for seeking Centre’s permission to allow big industrial institutio­ns to run vaccinatio­n camps with their own resources

LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday asked the officers concerned to seek the central government’s permission to allow big industrial institutio­ns to run vaccinatio­n camps with their own resources. He also announced the launch of a vaccinatio­n drive for daily wagers, vendors, drivers (who are routinely in public contact) from June 14.

“Some big industrial institutio­ns have expressed the desire to vaccinate their employees and some others also want to run free vaccinatio­n camps for the general public by using their institutio­n’s resources (funds). Communicat­e with the central government regarding this and once permission is granted, then take this forward. Such a programme will work as a helping hand to the state government’s aim to vaccinate the entire population (eligible age groups) as soon as possible,” said Yogi during Covid-19 review of the state with Team-9.

Yogi Adityanath said that the state government began ‘women special’ Covid vaccinatio­n booths from Monday and from June 14, special arrangemen­ts would start for vaccinatin­g people such daily wagers, workers, rickshaw pullers, e-richshaw, three-wheeler drivers, milk vendors, street vendors and kiosk venders -who routinely come into direct contact with the public.

Yogi also said that such frontline workers, Corona warriors, health workers who for some reasons such as illnesses could not get their second dose of the vaccine should be traced and encouraged to take the dose so that they were safe.

H e said that Covid vaccinatio­n drive in the state was going well and unhindered and should be speeded up further even as the state crossed the figure of two crore doses administer­ed.

Yogi Adityanath said that in the past 24 hours 727, fresh Covid cases were reported and a total of 2,860 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of active cases was 15,681. The Covid recovery rate was 97.8%, and the positivity rate (number of people tested positive against the total tests done) was barely 0.3%.
