17,014 PEOPLE, INCLUDING 7,329 WOMEN, TAKE THE JABS IN LKO

: A total of 17,014 beneficiaries, including 7,329 women, took the jabs at 147 Covid vaccination booths in the state capital on Monday. Of these, 141 sites were set up at government hospitals and six at private hospitals.

Two women’s special booths were set up at the Avantibai (women’s) Hospital in Golaganj and a vaccination centre on Rae Bareli road. Over 10 lakh doses had been administered in Lucknow so far, said officials.

“It’s a great facility. All the vaccinators in the city are women and now with women’s special booths, we feel more comfortable. In fact, more such booths should be introduced,” said a female beneficiary.

At Civil Hospital, one of the vaccination booths was dedicated for women beneficiaries for the past two weeks. This booth had been appreciated by women beneficiaries who also enjoyed the selfie point set up at the facility. “Women’s special booth at our hospital is appreciated by many women who come here to take the vaccine jab. They say they feel comfortable as all the beneficiaries and the vaccinators are women,” said Dr SC Sundriyal, hospital director.
